New Do.

I finally got my hair cut! It felt like it had been years since I had a cool cut, I just started going to a new person to cut my hair and she did her thing – very happy!

Mother’s Day
I know this was a while ago, but I wanted to post a photo from the Mother’s Day Brunch I had for my Mom. It was just the two of us, as my brother lives in New Orleans and was taking his finals that week. I made pineapple chicken and a big salad. After lunch, my Mom and I had sparkling cider and gossiped about everything going on.

puddle surfing ~ performance art
(This one’s for you, Jennifah.)
Long-lost footage from New Hampshire, 2007. Here we capture the artists at work creating waves in a standing pool of rainwater.

Idealist.org

For anyone that doesn’t already know about Idealist.org, please check it out. This is a great tool to see what is available for volunteer opportunities and worthwhile organizations in your area or around the world. It’s a truly grassroots kind of idea and it’s working! (I am currently looking for Hartford-based volunteer jobs, but you never know…it’s pretty international, you see.)

Central Mall, Bangkok
So my cousin, aunt and uncle and I all went shopping on my last day in Thailand. This mall is out of control. I have never seen anything so extravagant in the united states. The food court has really good food, waiters and a swanky live band. The movie theaters have countless cinemas filled with plush recliners. There is a space-aged looking bowling alley and of course, luxury automobile showrooms – of course! All I want to find out is who is buying Porsches at the mall? (Please notice my family in the background – my uncle is making a dramatic cameo appearance.)
