Found: more vintage frames…
Hello everyone! So after some careful googling, I found a new website and boutique in the Village that has a great inventory of vintage frames. Fabulous Fanny’s. These frames look well restored and ready to wear, but I haven’t been down there yet to see what’s what. I have my eyes on these guys:

Lafont Eyewear

I was in Paris for vacation in June, and everywhere I went I was noticing these great frames. After a little research I found the source – Lafont! Here is the website – it’s all in French, but click the bottom left for English and have fun checking out their frames.

I am seeing these everywhere – my cousin Jennifah has a pair, and they are HOT.

Project Runway – Episode 2 “Preggers!” Challenge: Create a pregnancy chic look for Rebecca Romijn.
I loved this week’s episode – the designers were charged with creating a pregnancy outfit of any style. Some of the men got it right, but the chicken suit designer, Malvin Vien, got booted and rightfully so. I was amazed that a designer could be soooo out of touch with women to think that anything like this “chicken and egg” concept could be relevant. It was awful.
Shirin Askari nailed it again, I loved her dress and lined jacket, but Louise Black also had a beautiful dress, a vintage-inspired, hand-dyed babydoll – it was my pick this week. Irina Shabayeva’ s dress was a favorite of mine as well. It was another baby-doll style dress, but in a bright blue-green satin with a flourish of cream colored flower at the sash.
Being a chic who wears glasses myself, I love Shirin’s glasses, if anyone knows what she’s wearing – please let me know!

Vintage eyeframes – FOUND!

Hello everyone, I have noticed that many people have been reading one of my old posts about my mission to find vintage eyeframes. It was really much harder than I thought if should be! Doesn’t everyone want cool-looking nerdy glasses to wear to work everyday? Sometimes this world boogles me. Anywho – I thought I should write a little about what I have found…Esty.com is the place to look! Try these, pink cat-eye frames, so cute. Or these sleek cat-eyes. Fabulous all of them! (Just dont buy the ones I have my eye on.)

mission accomplished: perfect vintage frames
Fabulous! I feel like I have hit the mother-load of cool, cat-eye frames. My cousin, who knows everything about shopping and style, read of my plight to find the vintage cat-eyes and referred me to Etsy.com. I searched on vintage frames and found the perfect pair. They are so inexpensive that I may buy a couple pair. I can’t wait for them to arrive so I can take them down to my eyeglass shop and have them fitted, and equipped with my prescription.
I feel like my cousin Diane. She got a great pair of glasses a few years back, and she would regularly say that she thought people were always looking at her glasses. I feel that the same thing will happen to me with my new frames, no one will be able to resist checking them out.
(These glasses below are not the ones I bought – I will not be able to unveil them until they are ready, you understand.)

Mission: must find vintage/vintage-style frames

I am a covet-er of many things – mostly cool eyeglass frames. Janeane Garofalo and Lisa Loeb always have the coolest frames. I have started searching online for vintage stuff, or new vintage-style frames and there isn’t much out there right now. Everything is being designed in that boxy, square way. I don’t have anything against those square frames, but they are taking over every shop and collection I look through. If anyone has any interesting info – I would love to hear it. I have heard that the bigger flea markets in NY, like Hell’s Kitchen, are a good place to find vintage frames, too.
Here are some promising leads I have found so far:
