Idealist.org

For anyone that doesn’t already know about Idealist.org, please check it out.  This is a great tool to see what is available for volunteer opportunities and worthwhile organizations in your area or around the world. It’s a truly grassroots kind of idea and it’s working! (I am currently looking for Hartford-based volunteer jobs, but you never know…it’s pretty international, you see.)

Walk for Fidelco 2008

I am volunteering again this year for the Walk for Fidelco. I used to work for Fidelco, and really grew to love the cause and everyone there. It’s a great organization – some people are into it for the dogs – and some are more interested in helping the blind community – but either way the Walk is a great thing to do in order to feel like you’re helping someone and being part of the ‘force for good.’

This year it’s being held at my school, there are really beautiful walking trails that curl through pine forests that seem to be 1,000 years old. Go to the website if you want to find out more.
